Job Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Senior Java Developer with strong experience in backend development, Spring Boot, XML processing, and API integrations.
You’ll work on an enterprise financial automation platform focused on electronic invoicing, international compliance, and integration with global e-invoicing networks. The role involves building reliable backend services, implementing country-specific invoicing requirements, and ensuring seamless data exchange between systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in Java backend development
- Strong knowledge of Java 17+; Java 25 experience is preferred
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, preferably Spring Boot 4
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs
- Strong understanding of XML processing, XSD, and JAXB
- Experience with XML schema validation and data transformation
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, and automated unit and integration testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, pull request workflows, and code reviews
- Experience integrating external APIs and third-party systems
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and debugging skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with international teams
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with e-invoicing standards such as Peppol, UBL, UN/CEFACT CII, and EN 16931
- Knowledge of national e-invoicing systems and formats, including SDI, KSeF, Chorus Pro, ZUGFeRD, and XRechnung
- Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, and JMS
- Knowledge of Schematron validation and electronic invoicing compliance, including VAT requirements
- Experience with Docker and containerization
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS S3
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch
- Exposure to React and TypeScript
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot services for e-invoicing solutions
- Implement country-specific invoice formats, XML processing, and validation rules
- Integrate applications with Peppol and other international e-invoicing networks
- Build and maintain APIs for invoice submission, tracking, and status updates
- Handle invoice acceptance, rejection, and payment-related events
- Write automated tests and maintain high standards of code quality
- Collaborate with international development, product, and cross-functional teams
- Troubleshoot issues and continuously improve application reliability and performance
